Audio Signal Strength Detector/Converter

Below is the schematic diagram of an audio input module. We can produce a DC output voltage that is proportional to the input signal amplitude (the signal strength) using this circuit. One application of this circuit is audio level meter. Other application such as sound-controlled light circuit can be implemented with this circuit as well.
