Temperature Probe for Digital Multi Meter
This is a simple temperature measurement probe circuit. This circuit measures temperature either on a PC board or at the probe tip to which contains the temperature sensor. It can be used for debugging and troubleshooting electronic circuits. Here is the schematic diagram of the circuit:
This circuit uses the MAX6610 as temperature sensor. We can scale the output to various values by changing the value of R1-R3. This circuit required supply voltage about 3V, so we can use a lithium coin-type cell or two AA alkaline cells. If we use the circuit for board-temperature sensing, the IC must be in intimate thermal contact with the board.
Scale factor of this circuit is 10mV/°C, and has ±2°C error over -40°C to +125°C. [Source: maxim-ic.com]
